This album came on the heels of a big year for Sean Tillmann. He had released the s/t Har Mar Superstar album in 2001 on Kill Rock Stars that started out as a side-project to Sean Na Na, and this album, My Majesty, was the follow up. This was the most critically acclaimed of all of the Sean Na Na albums after its release on Frenchkiss Records. Tillmann made this album with producer/drummer Bryan Hanna at The Terrarium in Minneapolis and brought in many old friends to appear. This is the first Sean Na Na album Paddy Costello (Dillinger 4) played bass on.
